wifi access

I have no problem with using my wifi in public access points but when I use it on a home network ( like the one I'm trying to set up at my home) I can't seem to get it to find the network. Please note that I am a first time user of wifi. My home wireless router is a netgear.

Netgear Wifi

I seem to have a similar problem, and while no wifi expert, I have managed to setup several access points over the years with little trouble, so I have some familiarty with turning WEP on and off, MAC access tables, etc. I use the wifi card in my T5 to connect to an AP at my office, and to others about town. At home I have a Netgear MR814v2 which works fine with my notebook computers there. My T5 detects the SSID, but reads zero signal strength, even when it is right next to the AP. I have tried turning off all security on the AP, but still get the same thing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Netgear Wifi

My problem was that my Tung C had zero out the MAC address so it had to be returned. Sorry, but not much help.

solution

After messing around with this for several days, I finally decided to update my wifi router's firmware as a last resort. That did the trick, it is now working great. For what it is worth, Centrino compatability seemed to be the only meaningful aspect of the firmware upgrade.
