Windows HotSync

I have a Treo 750 through Telstra (in Australia) using Vista and WMDC.  For quite a while, I could sync through bluetooth with my laptop and also backup to an old XP laptop with the USB cord.  For some months now when I connect it shows the connection and starts the sync, then stops the sync and says 'attention required', with support code 0x8503001c.  For a while the errors appeared to be related to the com ports and while my laptop allows for an incoming COM port from the device, the device won't let me add a COM port.  Neither Bluetooth nor USB connections will work.  I also recently tried to delete and re-create the synch partnership, but it didn't appear to delete the partnership from my device and when I tried to, my contact, calendar, etc items were deleted on the device.  Of course I now can't sync the items back onto my device.  I've been through these over and over again, through the manuals and FAQs, with no success.  Please help!

Remove the partnership to the other PC has well. Otherwise when you sync it will delete the data from that PC as well. 

 You might be able to uninstall WMDC and install WMDC 6.0.

Many people report this resolving this issue.

That worked.  Thank you very much!

I've gotten my contacts and calendar items restored, but I have a slight problem now with Outlook and my device showing meetings being an hour off and correcting one entry only messes up the other.  The manual wasn't much help.  I've tried deleting one entry, syncing and re-entering the apopintments but one is still off.  Both the laptop and the device have been set on the correct time for a long time now.

Confirm both the PC and the device are in the same time zone. If one of them is off it would cause this problem.

I have had the same problem - the synchronisation suddenly stopped working, giving as error message 'Support Code 0x503001C'.

Do I understand correctly that I have to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Centre and re-install it? Is that on the PC only, or do I have to do anything on the phone as well?

Should just be the PC.
